How it works
- 1
Register
Once your visa is granted, register for the briefing for your destination.
- 2
Attend
Join online or in person, with your parents if you like.
- 3
Take the checklist
Leave with a written pre-departure and first-week checklist for your country.
What the briefing covers
- What to carry in hand baggage and what to declare at customs
- Arrival, immigration and getting from the airport to your accommodation
- The first-week checklist: enrolment, bank account, SIM, registrations
- Money: forex cards, remittances, TCS and budgeting in local currency
- Part-time work rules and your rights as a worker
- Academic expectations, referencing and avoiding plagiarism
- Health, wellbeing and university support services
- Staying safe, including common scams targeting new students
Destination-specific sessions
Briefings are grouped by destination so the advice is specific: registrations in Germany, eVisas in the UK, Tax File Numbers in Australia, and so on. We run them online and in person at our head office.
For parents too
Parents are welcome. We cover how to stay in touch, how to send money, what support the university offers and what to do in an emergency.
Meet students going to the same place
Briefings are a chance to meet other students heading to the same country or university, so you arrive knowing a few people.
Frequently asked questions
Is the briefing free?
Yes, for all Moksh students and their families.
When should I attend?
Two to six weeks before departure, once your visa is granted and travel is booked.
Can I attend if I applied without Moksh?
Our briefings are designed for Moksh students, but get in touch and we will see whether there is space.
Is it online or in person?
Both. We run online sessions for students across India and in-person sessions at our New Delhi office.
